Opti-World provides the following
Services

explComprehensive Eye Examinations

The comprehensive eye exam involves checking how well you can see, how you use your eyes and the state of your eye health. Part of the testing is in visual acuity to establish how well you see (with your present prescription). This exam also includes tonometry, blood pressure movement, entrance testing, anterior chamber examination, posterior chamber examination (funduscopy), using the opthalmoscope to examine the eye structures (vitreous, retina, macula, optic disc, choroid) at the back of the dilated eye. Advanced diagnostic testing may be performed if the doctor decides it is necessary.

Low Vision Rehabilitation
This service is for the visually challenged patient that is not achieving the maximum visual ability or efficiency that they are capable of with their conventional eye glasses. These patients are usually severely affected by eye diseases such as macular degeneration, glaucoma, retina diabetes, cataract, retina surface damage, genetic disorders or brain trauma. This service is by appointment, takes time and usually involves several visits.

Contact Lens Fitting
Contact lens fitting involves dispensing of all kinds of conventional, cosmetic and specialty contact lenses for different conditions. Contact lens fitting may involve several visits before a patient is confirmed as a good fit. We dispense many new types of contact lenses such as bifocal contact lenses, astigmatic contact lenses, disposable toric lenses, disposable color lenses, gas permeables (RGP) etc. The doctor usually decides the type of contacts and wearing schedule suitable for the patient.

Ocular Disease Management
We diagnose eye diseases such as conjunctivitis (red eye), iritis, corneal injuries (foreign body embodiment) , glaucoma, anterior chamber ureitis, cataract, hemorrhaging, retinal detachment, diabetes retinopathy, choroiditis, macular hole, retinal scarring and the most common: Dry eye syndrome disorders.

Laser Vision Correction Consultation
We will initially determine if a patient is qualified and suitable for Laser Vision Correction (LVC). After this process the patient is referred to The Laser Center where further testing and consultation is done to familiarize the patient with the procedure. If the patient is confirmed as ready for surgery, the whole procedure will be explained in detail and a consent form will be provided for the patient to sign. The patient will be "prepped" for surgery, which is usually done under a local (ocular) anesthesia. The process takes about 8-12 minutes per eye. This procedure is painless.
